Rob Schneider

Rob Schneider coordinates Consumers Union's state-based advocacy campaigns. Currently, Consumers Union’s priority campaigns focus on disclosure and stopping hospital-acquired infections, protecting consumer financial privacy, and assuring prescription medicines are safe, effective, and affordable.
Before his move to Consumers Union’s Yonkers office, Rob was based in the Southwest Office in Austin, TX, where he oversaw that office’s work on financial services and insurance. He also served as Associate Commissioner for Consumer Protection at the Texas Department of Insurance.
Rob has extensive experience working with state legislatures – lobbying, developing legislative strategies, and working with the media. He has worked to reform insurance regulation, stem predatory lending practices, require transparency in government, and on a variety of consumer matters.
Rob is a lawyer and has B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
