Elisa Odabashian
Director, West Coast Office and State Campaigns
Elisa Odabashian is Consumers Union’s Director of the West Coast Office and State Campaigns. She is a widely-quoted expert on food and product safety, corporate accountability, dietary supplements, milk prices, and genetically modified organisms. Elisa also oversees the tracking and reporting of Consumers Union’s federal and state lobbying activities. On behalf of Consumers Union, she has served on a number of governmental advisory bodies over the years, including the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Dairy Advisory Committee, and most currently, the California Energy Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Advisory Committee. Elisa oversees Consumers Union’s Food and Product Safety Campaign and Financial Services Campaign, as well as the West Coast Office budgets and operations. When not at work or on a tennis court, Elisa, along with her partner, Ash McNeely, cares for their teen-aged daughter and son, the elder of whom is a freshman in college this year.
