BIOGRAPHY
Sondra Roberto is a Staff Attorney at the West Coast Office of Consumers Union, nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports magazine. She joined Consumers Union staff in February 2009. She works on the Community Health Care Assets Project, which advocates for greater accountability for non-profit health insurers and hospitals. She advocates for access, fairness and affordability for health care consumers.
From 2003 to 2006, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the New York Office of the Attorney General, where she reviewed mergers and investigated violations of state and federal antitrust laws, with a focus on healthcare insurance and provider organizations. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, she was a litigation associate at Weil, Gotshal, and Manges in New York. She was a newspaper journalist before she attended law school.
EDUCATION
Ms. Roberto received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in journalism from Arizona State University.
