Even with the new Congress, reports www.ConsumerAffairs.com, "Not everything looks so rosy on the identity theft front. Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH), sponsor of what critics (including Consumers Union) called the 'worst data bill ever,' retained his seat in Congress, though he will lose his position as chair of the Transportation Subcommittee. LaTourette's bill was heavily criticized for favoring industry interests at the expense of consumers, and for blocking state laws that enable "identity freezes." The anti-identity freeze provision was later removed from the bill, which has stalled in the House." To read the entire article, click here.

The good news is our push back, pushed the House back. On the flip side, we must keep a close watch on Congress.

I'd say that "we need to keep an eye on them" is a bit of an understatement. :-)
