Consumer Reports food-labeling poll shows consumers want to know where their food comes from and expect higher label standards... According to the poll, 92 percent of consumers agree that imported foods should be labeled by their country of origin. While the federal government mandated country of origin labeling, or COOL, back in 2002 for nearly all food products, implementation has been delayed until October 2008, with the exception of seafood.
The survey, conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center, polled a nationally representative sample of 1,004 people on issues concerning food safety and labeling. In addition to those listed below, consumers were asked about labels including “no hormones administered,” “free of disease,” and “irradiated” foods.

I'd also like to see labels that say no antibiotics administered. Animals are rountinely given antibiotics to keep them healthy.
this solution doesn't really address the problem... that the conditions these animals live in often make them sick.
of course every farm has some amount of sick animals, some amount of disease that is unavoidable. but I don't want to eat food that has been pumped full of antibiotics either.

I thought the labelling of food that you and I buy that comes from other countries was already implemented. You mean it's not?
I'm waiting for that to be a campaign issue so I can decide who to vote for.
Thanks for letting me know.

Yes, Food should be adequately labelled with the country who produced the product & where it was packaged.
Few days ago i was out shopping for these popular fruit cups & i naturally picked up 1 particular package knowing what the ingredients are and for some reason i read where it came from, and it was China!I have no problem with China however
We live in a country with an abundance of fruit & yes.. fresh is best, however "sometimes you do need a back up," i put the made in china fruit cups back on to shelf, still amazed that i live in the USA and my fruit cup has to come from China.
Adequate info on labelling should be made compulsory: by law. we should have the right to make informative decsions about where our food comes from. Also information on the types of sugars, fats& especially GMO.
