COOL Attack on Ice Posted by Reggie at 07/20/07 04:27 PM

Congress' House Agriculture Committee passed the Farm Bill without the amendment that would have severly weaken Country of Origin labeling (COOL). A combination of strong public support of COOL and an effective messenger in the person of Lou Dobbs helped the committee rethink weakening the frequently delayed COOL law.

Dobbs cited Consumer Reports' national survey which found 92% of the American public in support of COOL. Read more about the Committee meeting here.

China has poven time and time again that they are irresponsible in matters regarding health. I have read that shrimp from Thailand has been found, in this country, with antibiotics that had been flushed from hospital waste. We MUST have SAFE FOOD. We MUST HAVE MORE STRINGENT INSPECTIONS. Give us LABELS so that we can decide for ourselves if we want what I consider UNSAFE food from China and some other countries. Thanks.
