Consumers Union believes that commercialism in the schools poses a significant and growing threat to our children, their health, and the integrity of the educational system. Much school-based advertising promotes junk food and other food of suspect nutritional value. Consumers Union believes that schools should be ad-free zones and that parents should be asked for consent in advance to any marketing practices in the schools.
