Letter to Congress Re: CU’s “Meat on Drugs” Report

Consumers Union has undertaken a Meat Without Drugs campaign because antibiotic resistance has become a major public health crisis. We urge Congress to pass the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act (PAMTA). We believe that one of the best ways to reduce the level of antibiotic resistance in bacteria is to minimize the use of antibiotics in food-animal production.
