Maxed Out movie nights to spread the word! Posted by mitcka at 07/26/08 12:50 PM

More than 400 people volunteered to host Maxed Out movie nights to spread the word about credit card reform and get more comments to the Federal Reserve Board before the deadline. Thanks!

For those of you wondering, what is "Maxed Out," take a look at the preview here. We're out of DVDs but you can order the Movie yourself or rent it.

We asked you to host a movie night so that you and your friends, while enjoying this entertaining review of the American credit card problem, can also be part of the solution. The Federal Reserve Board has proposed new rules to rein in the credit card companies. We hope after watching the movie you and your friends will take a few minutes to write in support. You can send a letter in the postage paid envelopes we've enclosed, or you can comment online.

Then please, tell me your thoughts about the movie and about the need for reform right here! I want to hear from you!

I'm sorry I was not impressed with the movie. Too much fluff and not enough information. And I wanted to hear from the politicians and their opinion. I wanted them on film and committed. I mean don't write them a letter. Walk up with a camera and ask direct questions and expect direct answers. Put them on the spot. It just bounced around to me. I didn't want entertained. I wanted informed. I wanted to be angry and filled with information. It may just be me,but I would have preferred the classroom approach. Some good speaker with a black board and some Power Point. This is typical politics. A whole bunch of effort on our part. Some attention paid to us by the politicians. And they have me upset right now. It seems they will do what they are going to do. Hell Biden got a large chunk of his money from the banking industry. Does anyone see any bias here? They wouldn't shorten their break to stay in Washington to iron out this energy problem. Everybody is flip flopping all over the place because they don't want to say the wrong thing. I mean they are still going to do what they want. There is just so much going on no one in Wash. knows what lie to tell. Sorry just very frustrated with the lot of them.
Best regards,

We are passing the movie around to young people. As soon as we have shared it with all that we know, we'll give it to someone we don't know and ask them to treat it like a chain letter. We've done this with other important material and have heard from people we have never met by pasting our email address on the DVD.

My whole family was affected by my the credit cards debt, SEAR's card rip off us for the last 10 years by paying interest to the main account.

After all I finish broke and my credit damaged.

I will help the CR to get lower interest rates (actually 22%) on credit card by supporting your group.
